Yes it really has come to this.
The sum of all fears.

Is what? In truth I am well past my middle years and have experienced enough to give me the right to an opinion. I still go to the beaches where I learned to surf. I still go to the park where me and my friends played and and grew up. My old schools are still there. Some of my friends sold up and moved away because of some unsettling "noise pollution." The call to prayer to put it more precisely. It doesn't really bother me that much except I do recall hearing it at certain times. Like when IS in it's infancy stated that they would march all the way to the Pope's doorstep and also that my country would be an Islamic state within twenty years time. Now I just keep to myself and stay clear of it all but then I do suspect a few things. Have you heard of Ancestry DNA. It's pretty simple.

You give them money and a sample of your DNA deoxyriboseneucleic acid from memory (you never know when you can just pop it out as a kind of party trick to impress a nerdy girl that you might like to take out on a date). Anyway back to the story, this new DNA thing can tell you things you may not realize like about your great great great grandparents and country of origin. like they were peasant farmers who fired their own bricks and built there own house and had 13 children. Then unfortunately or fortunately for you when the Moslems invaded and one of your forebears managed to escape hence why you are hear and the bricks they made by hand went into the building of a Mosque. Then a pre-programmed voice says. Have a nice day ! and I can do all this on my computer while I listen to the call to prayer! On second thoughts I don't think I will go there. Christchurch is like a perfect storm. You have ruined buildings of brick, some of religious significance destroyed by an act of God maybe) that could be all recycled into Mosques. What a pleasant World we live in.

Holy serendipidous Chinese whispers.

Batman. Now that the group was comfortable talking about the "thing" they had created it was time to put it to the test. The meditation sessions had proved helpful in refining everyone's ability to concentrate. Nerdy girl suggested we all discuss our plans for the day and have a group hug before setting out to accomplish them.
Super geek decided to find rare metals to melt down into bars that would be rolled out and stamped into tokens that would be distributed to all the members. Everyone agreed that it should include a nickel meteorite to give a connection to Worlds beyond the Earth. Nerdy girl said she would see about getting an exercise bike that would be rigged up to charge batteries for power to run the computers which were necessary to do research.
Then Lego man shocked everyone with an idea that only the mentally insane could ever come up with. He said he was going to take the scientific claptrap I wrote and convert it with google into Arabic and then convert it back again to English to see if it made any more sense. Super Spock suggested he should do this several times. We all agreed to this partly because we thought Arabic was a beautiful language to look at.

At a recent Atheists convention a new member challenged the groups"hypothethicalness" with the idea all human emotions derived from sound evolutionary pressures.
Personally I found this confronting as we had not categorically dismissed a creators influence in this area. "What about caring." He said challenging the group.
"Surely you care because if you didn't you wouldn't be here.""Caring is a necessary and integral part of being a biological entity." He exclaimed. I didn't follow this reasoning at all. If someone thought their existence on Earth to be so deleterious they did not want it to continue through having offspring then they have extinguished themselves from the evolutionary cycle because they cared.
Giving the non-carers a leg up into the future. Unfortunately banana man disagreed with . Then Grandma shouted down and asked to be escorted from the building. Then a wallaby dwelled over it for a minute before saying. "I think banana man is a fool."

It was breathtakingly beautiful but also dangerous. I spied a tropical plant with purple fruit surrounding its stem and Trish warned not to taste it. "The animals around here all avoid it except for the Cannibal Mantis mice who are the only ones who can eat it." We decided to gather some so I could take it back to Dr Sullivan for testing. Then I asked her. "Last night you warned me about going outside in the dark, what did you mean?"
"There's several species of constrictors here but we will be fine so long as we keep the doors and windows shut at night." She said. "It's funny how you'd think they'd be on top of the food chain here but they're not."
" The Cannibal mice hunt them down in packs and can devour a whole snake in less than an hour." " They are the land equivalent of the piranha." I wondered if she was joking but it did remind me of what I had seen. " There's also several species here with edible sap like Maple syrup or Miena cider gum." I suggested we take some samples of them too. We were really tired out when we returned so I gathered some wood to heat up her makeshift tub so we could relax in there for a while.
We sipped tea sweetened with some of the native bees honey and shared faint recollections of life on Earth.

My second day on the Island.

I woke up, the day was quite warm and the luxuriant smells and sounds of the forest were a delight to the senses.I looked around the hut but Trish was nowhere to be seen. I looked at some of the pictures presented on the wall of her travels. In one she was naked in front of an elephant. I went out looking for Trish and i could hear sounds coming from the storage hut which she had converted into a gym. When i arrived she was doing her kick boxing routine, smiling as she saw me arrive.
I could see how toned her body had become. "Are you ready for breakfast ?' She asked. "Hope you don't mind helping me catch it ." I looked inquisitively at her then she explained. "It's just become a habit of mine to save the supplies when I can and live off the land." Then under her direction we went off to the mangrove forest where she unabashedly stripped off and got me to coat her with mud to ward of the insects that lived here.
We gathered some shellfish and crabs and went up to the falls to wash the mud off. I posed for a picture for her to add to her collection. Then I told her how happy Dr Sullivan was with the samples she had sent back.

It had been a long boat trip and Trish was there at the jetty meet me. She invited me in her modest hut and asked me if I was hungry. I answered yes so she produced a frying pan and began cooking on the stove. Then we chatted about her recent discoveries while we ate the meal at the table.
"There's something weird about this place." She said. "I'm sure the animals can feel it too." I asked. "You man like a curse?" I asked as a skeptical look crossed my face .
"Perhaps,I know it sounds crazy but I see the strangest things." She said then continued. "You should wait daylight before you go ." "It will be safer that way."
Later on that night when I was tucked up in bed I could hear the sounds of a struggle outside and picked up my flashlight and went out investigate.
I walked a little way from the shack and stumbled upon a mouse eating another mouse and wondered if this was the kind of stuff Trish was referring . It was !

100,000,000 stories in our own galaxy.

Now it's not known exactly how many black holes there are in our galaxy or how many solar systems have life intelligent enough to grasp the inter-space threats may abound the
But for the sake of a story to tell it would have some merit perhaps to consider how a planet populated by intelligent beings might unite under threat from one of these black menacing foes.
Let's say a civilization suddenly finds itself by calculation in the grip of one of these planet capturing and consuming objects. Then the only chance of survival for the inhabitants of this doomed planet is a spaceship of Arkish practicalness and proportions is capable of black hole escape velocity speeds and the ability to search the surroundings for a new and safe home .
Maybe even a project name the start of this scientific endeavour beings even the ones gripped by war could temporarily lay down their weapons in the interests of an co-hesive effort . Of course experiments may even be necessary to understand exactly what the relationship between gravity and mass really is. They may build massive particle colliders to find sub atomic parts immune to gravity point to a different solution. To defy gravity by other electromagnetic means perhaps. To distort the fabric of time and space enough to just warp through it unimaginable speeds.

That which is harmful but tastes good. Like a burned steak with a teasing topping of mushrooms in gravy. Yes the chemical laden fungus that temps by it's sweetness and succulence. Be wary lest you fall prey to its deceitfulness under a full moon! The immortals scorned such foolish things as homes for the fickle and fiendish creatures that inhabit the night garden for they do not posses any feelings at all. Their wickedness is in the way they sneak and crawl. Underfoot I say! Let them be rooted out by hogs! Let them suffer under the daylight sun that they have no need of. Now be off with you, your pagan curses. Your charms and bracelets. Be off with you! You who glides your boat through the misty lake, for isn't this where your treasure awaits? With lines and baits? To feel free, high on omega three, and search for the fruit that hangs off the tree. That's where you really wanna be!

Seven deadly things and a modern day Ark?

Gilgamesh became obsessed with immortality. Problem was he considered himself part God part human and that part of him that was human committed him to die.
Now after many thousands of years some believe that immortality if it is possible should be handed out sparingly. For those elites to ride on like a modern day Ark.
