NF I prefer to have some-one local as LDR's are hard to maintain! I have met people when i travelled but no lasting relationships developed! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

I think distance is all dependent on the individual. If it is the right person who makes your heart fire then distance or no it is still worth it...but there is definitely something to be said for having one in your life who is there to touch hold and kiss at the end of along day. Long term long distance is not a great thing..but it can take time to earn trust, and know if they are the ONE which completes you. Fates have a way of guiding you where you are meant to be.

Long distance does have disadvantages and there are times I just want someone to snuggle with but I think each circumstance must be rationally considered.

I would be groovy if I connected with someone close. But, if I really connect and we meet and see potential for a long term relationship. I woudl do all I could to keep the connecting and let it grow. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

For real encounters, a rule of thumb is about an hour's travel, in the case of say, a 3-4 hour encounter. Where I am, there is roughly a 6.5 million population within a 1 hour drive. A profile that existed on another site, said she was available every other weekend. In that case, where I could visit for a couple of days, a 4-5 hour trip would be my soft limit.
